Beautiful varieties in a North Carolina garden
Today ’s photos come from Kelly Gage in North Carolina .
An unusually heavy December snow for North Carolina totaled 15 inch ! It was n’t fun to drive in , but it sure was beautiful to depend at .
Early spring in the Sir Henry Joseph Wood , when the new leaves on the Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree are that freshest , almost semitransparent , undimmed spring green .

Spanish flag ( Minalobata , one-year ) is an strange but easy - to - grow annual vine that blooms all summer with nebuliser of blossoms that shade from red through orange to yellow .
Roses and clematis are Hellenic combinations , and they depend so beautiful here growing together . The two plants like similar condition , include full-bodied , well - enfeeble soils . The strong stems of a pink wine can provide support for the vining stems of the clematis , and as you see here , the different color and shapes of their flowers complement each other beautifully . Just be sure to choose a clematis that is n’t overly vigorous so that it does n’t smother the pink wine it is produce through .
As beautiful as clematis flowers are , their seed heads are just as marvelous , developing into these long - lasting tufts of silky threads that provide nifty interest in the garden long after the flowers have fade .

Jack - in - the - dais ( Arisaematriphyllum , Zones 4–9 ) is a classic timber wildflower over much of easterly North America . There is a lot of variation in this mintage , with some population flushed a grim semblance , but this course is a particularly beautiful bright , clear green , with very pronounced white vein on the leaves .
A extensive view of the garden , a small horticultural paradise surrounded by a tall paries of tree diagram .
I believe this is a metal money of coral source orchidaceous plant ( Corallorhizasp . ) , a genus that is native to much of North America . These are unusual plant because they are myco - heterotrophic , which mean that instead of pretend food by photosynthesizing , they incur food from the fungus in the dirt .
