Six on Saturday. The Crown Jewels.

The honest time of the twelvemonth is here . The garden is full of the most aristocratic flowers decked in all their shine jewel - like fairness . This is the consequence you need to pin down and time- halt . Every minute not spent in the garden is a minute wasted .

Let ’s go with the irises . The whiskery ones are getting over but there are others to enjoy . The wild flagstone , Iris pseudacorusis pretty with its chicken flower but it is invasive . In my pond I have a variety with smart chocolate-brown stripes called ‘ Berlin Tiger ’ . One of its parent is ‘ Holden Clough ’ which is where it gets its stripes from .

Iris sibiricais another fleeting beaut of former summer . Most of them are lovely tad of juicy so ‘ Osborne ’s Grey ’ is a moment of an curio . It is uncommon so I have been reckon after this for Suffolk Plant Heritage for some years . To my horror I nearly lose it in my previous garden where it was n’t felicitous , my grunge was too dry . But it hump its newfangled office and I can now start to separate it .

Of course , I ca n’t fend growing iris from seed . One of ‘ Osborne ’s Grey ’ babies turn out pinkish .

But my favouriteIris sibiricaare blue and if you rise them from seed you could have wrapping of them .

I was surprised that some seedling were such a dark color , I thought they might be a bit washed out . This next one ’s mother wasIris sibirica‘Silver Edge ’ . I cogitate my child is even proficient than its mother .

I brought an iris diaphragm with me which I thought was calledIris sibirica ‘ Sparkling Burgundy ’ but I do n’t know if I have suffer this right because it seem likeIris ensatato me . Whatever its true name is I opine it is very pretty . It is maturate with a white Ragged Robin .

That ’s enough irises , I realise not every one is as iris haunt as I am .

Another passion is orchidaceous plant . In my garden I have three Cypripedium . I missed one of these Lady ’s Slipper ’s blooms whilst I was in France . I have been very mad about this one , ‘ Kentucky Pink ‘ which had ten bud . you could opine my repugnance when I pass to shoot it to find most of them had been chewed . Cypripediums can be quite tricky so I am proud of that this one has originate and has now made prissy clump .

The first of the clematis on the trellis in my secret garden is in bloom . Most of the roses here are peach or apricot so the velvety dark purple clematis go bad well with them .

MyItohpeony ‘ Julia Rose is finish now but I have a reasonably pale yellow one with red stripes call ‘ Lollipop ’ .

The herbaceous peonies are full of bud and have a few twenty-four hours to go butPaeonia‘Coral Charm ’ is earlier than the others and it has been beguile me with its chameleon coloration modification for day now . The flush pop off cryptical coral .

They then turn peach through to biscuit colour and finish up cream .

Here is ‘ Coral Charm ’ spring up in front of my secret garden accompanied by lovely apricot roses , ‘ state of grace ’ and ‘ Phyllis Bide ’ which is one of my favourite rambler .

I grow Phyllis either side of both arch lead into my secret garden . I love the way that unlike most ramblers she will flower again afterward in the summer .

Rose ‘ Drinkstone Apricot ’ is over now but lovely ‘ Bathsheba ’ is looking good .

I am not going to show you all my pink wine just now as we would be here all mean solar day . I seem to have about forty , which is softheaded in a garden this sizing . But I have two more in the secret garden which are deserving a aspect . One of them is a gorgeous rambler ‘ Ghislaine de Féliconde ’ . The flowers are a lovely ghost of apricot .

The last one is ‘ Goldfinch ’ which was a particular pet of Vita Sackville West , she call it her sweetheart and say it reminded her of sputter egg . It is practically spineless and it has muckle of flowers which are powerfully fragrant .

I ’m believably dedicate you floral indigestion so for number six here is a dragon fly . The pond was full of irridescent damosel rainfly and dragon fly today . This one is a Four - spot Chaser .

I ’m sure there are batch of roses and other sumptuous other summer blooms to be found on blogs all round off the worldly concern , so pop over to Jim atGarden Ruminationsand join in with his popular meme Six on Saturday .
