InPart 1of this series we talked about using time exit fertilizers to feed the rose .   InPart 2we talked about using compost and mulch to bung the soil , which in turn assist the roses take up nutrients .

In Part 3 we are blend in to talk about using a ware that is in all probability as old as biography itself .   Seaweed .

Liquid Seaweed when applied as a foliar spray to rose does wonders .   I ’ve used it for years and always with great results .   The foliage turns a darker greens , the colors on the bloom becomes more intense and the canes seem hardier .   And overall the plants seem happier .

Now , I ’m not a scientist and so can not launch into long explanation citing element from the periodic table as to   why it work so well .   But , I do know from learn and talk to others that liquid seaweed is rich in K , mineral and hint elements and even contains some increment internal secretion .   And it is very serious at making these available to the plant .

And I roll in the hay with my own eyes over old age and thousands of rosebush of using it how well it work .

How often you enforce it can calculate on the finical sort , but as long as you are dong Parts 1 and 2 , I call back once a month is plenty .   you could really do without it and just do Parts 1 and 2 but if you do n’t mind a piddling extra work I think you will be pleased with the result .

I use it as a foliar spray and that works fine for me .   If you have soil you are trying to build up up you may do it as a drench every now and then and you ’ll see some nice results chop-chop .

The other vantage to using seaweed is that , when used as a foliar spray , it seems to also aid in disease electric resistance .   It builds up the leaf in a room that makes it more insubordinate to pathogen such as blackspot and mold .

To buy it I would first sample your local Independent Garden Center .   If you strike out there try on phone line .

And that is your full Simple Fertilizing Of Roses Program .   To reexamine .

Part 1 is using a time release constitutional plant food in spring and again at the goal of the summer .   Be certain the one at the close of summer wo n’t be feeding well into fall so the pink wine can harden off and shut down .

Part 2 is to on a regular basis add compost and then a layer of hardwood mulch to your rose beds .   Do n’t take out the old mulch just have it become compost and build up your soil like a forest trading floor

Part 3 is what we just peach about .   Using Liquid Seaweed once a month or so to give your roses just that short redundant kick .
