I first started hear about Quietness when I move to South Carolina some seven year ago . So , I did a little research and found it ’s a Griffith Buck rose , but was n’t introduced until 2003 ; twelve year after Mr. Buck ’s overtaking .
How did this bechance ?
The good folks at Roses Unlimited , Pat Henry and Bill Patterson , start collecting Mr. Buck ’s roses long ago . include in them were some unreleased varieties . Pat and Bill found them in their garden , watched them and slow free a few . Quietness is one of those .

By the direction Pat , Bill and their rosaceous nursery are one of the unsung rose treasures in the United States .
I first saw this rear in the garden of Carol Meyer , a dear admirer who hold out in Spartanburg , SC . Carol told me it was one of the easiest keeper in her garden . The scrub was fully foliate , upright and just covered in cloud of bombastic , soft pinkish blooms . And to my delight they were fragrant !

I take some cuttings to propagate at my old glasshouse and never looked back . For us this rose defined the phrase “ we ca n’t keep it in neckcloth ” . Every metre we released new ones on the site they were go in an middle blink . As other nurseries also added this rose to their assembling its fame begin to diffuse .
