Today ’s photos are from Mary Bosman in Sturgeon Bay , Wisconsin . Mary says,“For far too foresightful ( 35 years ) we had a nothing back M . I always felt that gardening was a avocation too expensive for us . But in 2009 developers started building next threshold , and we had a privacy fencing construct .

“ One mean solar day I choke to our city dump to swing off some branch and discovered , to my delight , twelve immense ferns lying on the metropolis compost bus . From that time on , I was chat there frequently – sometimes twice a twenty-four hours . Our yard and our lives became transformed . I have find variegate Solomon ’s seal , canna , Campanula ‘ Pink Octopus ’ , ornamental Oregano , Russian sage , lady ’s mantle , hostas , black - eyed Susans , and a pile of respectable sweet woodruff , to name a few . Now my nose is always in a horticulture book , so I ’ve learn how to blemish invasives , and insalubrious plants .

“ We live in a cottage that was brought to the city from the country in 1947 and onto the front of the cottage was built a small grocery store for the migratory proletarian . So we have two large windows facing the Confederate States , and the yearly I get in for the winter flourish in our life room .

“ Right now I have two variegated geraniums , one blue chalk fingers succulent , a hibiscus , ‘ Moonshine ’ yarrow , and a lemon yellow sweet-scented geranium originate , all that I find in the dump !
