In a previousblog postwe talk about overhead watering as a possible mode to prevent disease . In this post I ’d like to blab out about what to do if it shows up .
Roses , like most plants , do get fungus sometimes . The theory in the past has been to spray them regularly with all kinds of chemicals design to serve forestall them from gettingblackspot , mildew etc . Personally I do n’t believe in that . Garden Roses are by nature more disease resistant than most roses and frankly , I do n’t like putting that many chemicals in the environment when they might not even be necessitate .
Instead I ’ve come up with a simple-minded way to knock down adiseaseoutbreak if it should appear amongst your roses . It demand Lime & Sulfur Spray . You should be capable to get it at any skilful garden centre .

sulphur is a lifelike eradicant . What do I stand for by that ? Simply that it kills any fungus after it has taken clutch in the garden and does so almost immediately . It ’s one of the ingredients used in the onetime “ Bordeaux Mixture ” used to spray vineyards in France .
Here is how you habituate it .
Wait for a cloudy day or do it early in the morning before the sun stumble the roses . The intellect is the combining of sun and lime / atomic number 16 will burn leaves .

Spray the lime / sulfur on the rose wine at a mixture of 1 tbs per Imperial gallon of water . Do n’t apply a broadcaster / sticker or anything else with it . Just the lime / sulfur and water . I like using a hosiery remainder sprayer so I can really soak the plants well .
Wait 15 minute then wash it all off with unclouded water from the hosiery .
That ’s it ! The basswood / atomic number 16 will quickly kill off any fungal spores in the garden and strike hard down an impending contagion . I ’ve been doing this for years and years with large final result . The only downside is sulfur does reek a bit but it soon goes off .

So instead of perpetually spraying rose with chemical substance give up yourself some work , and money , by simply treating any outbreak as it occurs . It ’s better for your roses , the environment and yourself .
