Welcome to the second day of photos from Jacky and Lynn Swenson ’s garden in Grafton , Wisconsin . In typesetter’s case you missed it yesterday , here ’s what Jacky had to say:“In 2003 , my husband Lynn and I bought a fresh - built rest home with three acres of domain near Lake Michigan in the township of Grafton . There was only a driveway … no pavement , lawn , or hardscape . The Mary Jane grew up to the doorway .
It had formerly been a farm orbit , and we hauled out onetime fence post , barbed conducting wire , dead tree , and dust that were leave behind . Since we both acquire up on Iowa farms and have a rage for planting and watching thing grow , we make a practiced team . This also means that if one of us add up up with an estimate , there is no one to “ put on the brakes ” and we have done some moderately big projects , including build two ponds stock with fish and implant stacks of tree , bushes , and flowers . We have grasp every hole ourselves for each tree diagram , shrub , and plant . Sometimes our ideas put our muscle to the test , but it is all worth it in the end final result .
We like a lot of peak touching each other so your oculus just flow along , but I still wish to keep it pretty tidy and so I do a lot of cutting back and deadheading . I would call our garden style “ Controlled enthusiasm ” ! My husband Lynn has done all the hardscape piece of work all by himself … brickwork , pond digging with rental equipment , and laying the endocarp and paths .

After nine years , he and I now have a unagitated Eden that we enjoy each and every twenty-four hours . Incidentally , you will observe that there are several patios and lots of chairs , which are gravid places to enjoy the quiet beauty of nature and have a glass of wine . When our friends sit by the pool , they always remark that it is so passive . We love it here ! ”
For the second day in a row , WOW ! I feel very indolent … .
