In a Pot on Monday. Tulip Time.

I could n’t bring myself to cut my tulip for a vase so I have adaptedCathy‘s Monday meme to be in a pot instead of a vase . I plant sundown colours in throne , I want them all in one big pot but I did n’t have one crowing enough . They are all sitting on a table outside my windowpane and I have enjoyed watch over them come into bloom . There are still plenty of buds to open .

These are the tulip I used . ‘Jimmy ’ ‘ Cairo ’ , the delicious ‘ Brown Sugar ’ which I first saw on my friendChristina’sblog a few years ago . ‘ Jaap Groot ’ is lemon edged with ivory . The two double ones are ‘ Sun Lover ’ and the ticklish bang-up tulip ‘ Charming Lady ’ .

In another pot I have a viridiflora call in tulip ‘ flare Spring Green ’ which would likely be lovely in a vase if I could wear to pick it .

Well now I have rather adapted the rules of the meme to have prime on pots or else of arranged in a vase I might as well take you down the garden to look at some tulips planted in the ground because they are wait stunning right now .

Still in the sundown shades we have Tulip ‘ Daydream ’ which seem adorable with the striking Tulip ‘ Abu Hassan ’ which is deep red with a yellow border .

The problem with tulip is they have no staying power and after a yr or two they dwindle away away . I have find the lily -flowered Tulip ‘ West Point ’ stays around for a few years .

But the most dogged in my garden is one that was here when I come and it has spread all circular . It is a large lily-livered Darwin called ‘ Golden Apeldoorn ’ and it look adorable with brunnera and forgetmenots .

The flower are disastrous inside .

I have lots of cherry-red Darwins which increase happily too .

Having project your lovely tulips , I wondered why I did not grow many … perhaps it is because come autumn , I ca n’t recollect where the spread are . mayhap I ought to make banknote now ?

What a splash of colour Chloris and such ravisher too . I buy myself to tailor one single tulip for my vase today but have only a paltry number compared to your multitudes . You have certainly captured the colours of sunset .
