However , when I scrolled upona TikTok videoof one of my favorite food influencers making a homemade Crunchwrap , I was scheme . It look improbably delicious , so I decide it was time to finally try one out .
The imitator version look too good not to try , but how could I roll in the hay if it ’s truly a reproduction without also adjudicate the archetype ? So I jell out to liken a Crunchwrap Supreme fresh from the Taco Bell driving force - thru to the one I could make at home .

Homemade Copycat Crunchwrap Supreme
After being let down by the original Crunchwrap , I was eager to essay the homemade rendering — the one that made me starve a Crunchwrap in the first position . I purchased all of the ingredients and start cooking . Since the recipe called forhomemade cheese dip , pico de gallo , andguacamole , the entire cooking process took about 45 minutes . Not as tight as go to a take - thru , but not long enough to keep me from making it .
Even at a glance , I could tell that my homemade " Crunchwrap " would taste significantly better than the one I had just bribe at Taco Bell . It was much thick-skulled ( due to me going heavy on all of the beef and topping ) and had a crisp texture on the exterior of the tortilla .
When I tasted this version , I was pleasantly greeted with tons of flavor — including spicery from the meat and cheese dip and coolness from the pico de gallo , dark cream , and guacamole . The textures were also good — there was a sturdiness to the toasted tortilla that harbour it all together , crunchy Doritos bit in the gist , and crisp lettuce to break in up the other mild textures . I had a cup of the cheese cutpurse on the side to sink it in , making for another heavenly bite .

The Verdict
free-base on my taste test , I would rather have a homemade " Crunchwrap " any day of the week . However , I can see where one would choose for the drive - thru translation if they did n’t require to purchase all of the groceries , cook for 45 minute , do dishes , andclean up the kitchen . Convenience is a crowing ingredient , but when I have the meter , I ’ll be have the copycat version of this repast again . My married man ( a longtime Taco Bell connoisseur ) even sleep with it and has already been asking me when we ’re get it next . As far as the real deal goes , I ca n’t say that I will be finish at a Taco Bell unless I ’m in a pinch !
