glad Friday GPODers !
We ’ve made it to the finale of Cherry ’s evenfall misstep toHeronswood Garden . She ’s indicate us so many amazing scenes from the botanic garden , but she ’s saved a special treat for the terminal submission . ( Be certain to circle back if you ’ve missed any of the previous parts of this serial : Part 1,Part 2 , andPart 3 )
Best part of my visit was drop clip with Riz Reyes(Assistant Director at Heronswood since 2022 ) !

I was quite inspired watching Riz make this extraordinarily beautiful comestible mushroom-shaped cloud centerpiece for theirHeronswood in - person class : “ A Foray for Fungi , with David Biek . ” I also had the pleasure of follow him cook some of the mushrooms before they were served to the form participant . Yummy vegan sauce ! Thank you very much Riz ! It as a truly fun day for me .
Foraged William Green from the garden for the centrepiece . Here ’s a video on how he produce the centerpiece : Video of Riz from Cherry ’s Instagram
A rattling alternative to the common floral and pumpkin Thanksgiving centerpiece do n’t you think?Note the “ featured plants”board in the background .

Specimens at the course of instruction . I ’m not sure if these were brought in by the participants .
Riz cooking various mushroom with a yummy vegan sauce . They were served over toasted baguette .
I run low gaga over these the moment we arrived ! Riz develop these gorgeous Nipponese chrysanthemum from cuttings! 👏 👏 I believe they ’re wanderer chrysanthemums , perhaps Tarantula series . When I posted about these on my societal media , there were several who commented how difficult it is to get hold spider chrysanthemums.🥲

Riz has a rightfully enviable assemblage , wanderer chrysanthemums in so many vibrant color .
There is so much to admire about these curly , unusual prime .
Though , you still ca n’t go wrong with the more shopworn mammy ( Dendranthema grandiflora , Zones 7–9 or as an annual ) either .

‘ Elegant Sound Pavilion ’ roughly - leaved hydrangea(Hydrangea aspera ‘ Elegant Sound Pavilion ’ , Zones 7–10 ) . Heronswood has the most attractively unique hydrangeas I ’ve ever seen .
train out that foliage !
I was all over this thick tongue fern(Pyrrosia lingua‘Compacta ’ , Zones 7–10)hanging planter . It ’s one of many genus Pyrrosia from Riz ’ secret collection .

Thank you for yet another astonishing trip to a stunning botanic garden , Cherry ! I ’m sure I ’m not the only one that nonplus endless travel divine guidance from the gardens you visit and gracefully divvy up with us .
