Last Sunday was Palm Sunday , so I pop off with my wife to the local approving of the thenar frond down on the bay . There were hundreds of the local folk , all carry little palm decorations .
Here in Rapallo , they utilise very attractive woven laurel wreath pieces with twig of olive mixed in . The booths in the veggie food market downtown deal a variety of these woven palm foliage , and at the benediction site a group of craftspeople are arrive at new ones as quickly as the people come to make a donation and take the finished pieces . My wife bought palm weaving for herself , her mother and her sister . She even post some of these to my own female parent in California sometimes .
Everybody hold these palm and olive medal up in the air when the non-Christian priest blesses them , then they take them home and put them up on the rampart somewhere . The decoration are used for a yr and then replaced with unexampled ones . The old ones are supposed to be burned , not thrown away . I do n’t take much part in all this , but I do get the occupation of burning the former palm palm every year .

The first picture is the group of woven palms my wife buy . The second photo is a shot of the flowered Easter bells climb up downtown . Rapallo does a pretty serious job of put up lots of dissimilar flower bed and other floral decorations .
This Sunday is Easter . We ’ll eat luncheon with the family , and it ’s sort of like Christmas in that people give each other gift of chocolate and sweetness . The tradition here is to give hollow chocolate eggs that have “ surprise ” inside .
For the tike there are a ton of dissimilar big eggs a ft or more in height in the market , and they all arrest surprise gift . Most of the gifts are cheap credit card toys and jewellery , but one can easily find eggs with actual jewellery , veridical toys and nice stuff . Of of course there are chocolatiers that will seal up whatever endowment one fetch them . I myself have seal a surprisal natural endowment , a cute vigil , inside a paper mâche egg for my wife , and I have chocolate eggs for my other relatives .

I also brought my female parent - in - jurisprudence some flowers in pots yesterday , as she have intercourse poppycock that one develop for free . One of the plant I brought was a fresh potting of some marguerite cuttings I root in the manure - stir up coldframe . They were quite robust and already flowering in the rout bed .
The second blossom was a pot full of blooming chionodoxa , part of the plunder from a raid my wife and I made on an abandoned villa above Camogli last fall . The gardens of the Pancho Villa had been prissy at one sentence and I harvested a number of bags full of aspidistra , daffodils , bergenia , violet , agapanthus , ivy and ripe persimmons . It was a great harvest , and most of the stuff and nonsense is now doing great in the garden .
