I ’m not doting of these short , soggier , colder , darker days , but I can think of one good matter about them : they give me the perfect excuse to stay inside where it ’s warm , ironic and lamplit , and get crafty .
The relentless approach of the holidays also plays a part in spurring this renewed interest , nudging me to break out my knitting or rughooking , put “ clean / coordinate craft closet ” on my to - do list , and start making inexpensive country greeting lineup .
I guess I ’m a bit old - fashioned , in this age of atomic number 99 - ring mail correspondence , but I still love giving and receiving real bill with substantial handwriting that you could book in your two hands , prop on the pianissimo , and then stash in a “ Sentimental Stuff ” box to keep everlastingly .

I know there are lots of creative ways to make visiting card , but since I often make them at the last hour ( as in , “ OMG , it ’s [ fill in the blank ] ’s natal day tomorrow ! ” ) and picture taking is a rage of mine , I tend to gravitate toward passing straightaway and easy exposure card ( I also create card from playpen and ink drawing , but that ask a loooong clip ) .
All you need is :
1 . film your photos and impress them out . Today ’s advanced digital tv camera much take good pictures by themselves .

And living here in the land , we ’re surround by beautiful , interesting subject to shoot at any time of class : family , animals , wildlife , gardens , b , rural landscapes , you name it .
A few tip : when draw up your pictures , think vertical as well as horizontal and assure there ’s no fuddle in your background . Use your photograph software to diddle with people of colour , eliminate crimson - middle , etc . I commonly print out photos in a 4 x 6 size of it for cards .
2 . gum or tape your photo to the front of the clean card . If using gum , place a Holy Scripture on top and let dry a instant before proceedings . OK , I just discover the existence of photo salutation cards that impress straight off from your electronic computer , so you could even decamp this step .

3 . Think up a odd , touching , romantic , silly , festive or other sentiment to write in your card . You ’d call back this would be the leisurely part for me , being a author , but it ’s actually the hardest !
What wiliness are you up to now ?
